Carl Schoombie’s alleged murderers appear in court

Brent Henry and Juane Jacobs are expected to appear in the Western Cape High Court on Friday, for pre-trial proceedings in the murder case of Stellenbosch University graduate, Carl Schoombie.

The pair allegedly followed Schoombie and three friends after they had left a Claremont nightclub, Tiger Tiger, in an uber taxi In Rondebosch the accused allegedly pulled Schoombie out of the taxi and beat him up.

The 27-year-old died of head injuries five days after the November 2015 attack.

Henry was arrested shortly after the murder, but Jacobs fled Cape Town and was arrested in Johannesburg in February this year.

On September 16, the two men appeared in court for allegedly beating Schoombie to death.

Henry was release on R1,000 bail shortly after his arrest, but Jacobs abandoned his bail application.
