Three suspects aged between 38 and 47 were arrested by members attached to Maitland Flying Squad and Cape Town K9 units, on charges of business robbery and possession of prohibited firearm and ammunition on Tuesday afternoon, 7 February 2023.
In an unrelated matter on Tuesday, 7 February 2023, a 42-year-old male was arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and a smoke grenade in Manenberg.
Furthermore, on Sunday, 5 February 2023 at about 21:00, members of Ocean View police executed a search warrant at a premises in Titan Road, Ocean view.
After entry was gained, a pistol with serial number filed off and six rounds of ammunition were found hidden under a mattress.
A 43-year-old suspect was taken into custody on a charge of illegal possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
