Cape taxi drivers initially planned to start striking on Monday 6 August 2018, but the strike was averted after talks.
It is all regarding a planned conference, that would take place to sort out the leadership, in the provincial part of the SA National Taxi Association.
According to reports, the taxi industry has been without proper leadership the past five years, which has caused challenges in the industry to be undermined and no new strategies have been developed.
Meanwhile, the strike continues at the Gautrain, and only limited services are delivered in peak hours.
