On Tuesday 2 October 2018, at about 04:40 members of the Bishop Lavis Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 23 year old male for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition in End Road Bishop Lavis.

The members followed up information received by an informer. As they approached End Road they noticed the male that fit the description and as they approached him, he started running. The members gave chase and apprehended the suspect and confiscated a brown and black firearm with one live round of ammunition.

The suspect is due to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court once he has been charged.
