On Friday, 20 November 2020, at about 21:00, a 37-year-old Sergeant attached to Bellville South Visible Policing was arrested on charges of corruption at Bellville SAPS.

Members attached to Anti-Corruption Unit Western Cape conducted an operation at Bellville South SAPS. The agent approached the member, who agreed to take dagga and a cellular telephone to a prisoner in the cells.

The member received R300 for his services. The member was arrested. The dagga, cellular telephone and marked money was found in his possession. He was arrested and is due to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 23 November 2020.
