A farm attack took place in Porterville, Western Cape, on Sunday 25 November 2018, at 21:15. Tobie and his wife Desiree van Schalkwyk were viciously attacked by three masked attackers. The attackers poured petrol over Tobie and were attempting to set him alight when he managed to activate the panic alarm button which caused the attackers to flee on foot.
There have been no arrests as yet and police are investigating. It is unclear what, if anything, was taken during the attack.
