Concerted efforts to fight the scourge of gang violence in our communities led to the arrest of a 21-year-old suspect for the possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition in Beverley Lane, Atlantis, on Sunday, 3 October 2021.

The Atlantis Crime Prevention Unit were busy with a stop and search operation when they searched the suspect and found him in possession of a 9mm pistol with ammunition.

In an unrelated matter Atlantis police executed a search warrant in Thorn Lane, Mamre, on Monday, 4 October 2021 and confiscated an imitation firearm with ammunition, a bullet proof vest, manufactured parts of a firearm and crystal meth (tik).

A 28-year-old suspect was arrested on charges of possession of presumed stolen property and detained.

The suspects are due to make court appearances in Atlantis Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 6 October 2021 on the mentioned charges.
