Following up on a vehicle which was reportedly hijacked on Wednesday 17 April 2019, members of the K9 Unit spotted the vehicle parked in Zolile Street in Boys Town, Crossroads. When they approached the vehicle two suspects jumped out of the vehicle and ran into different directions.

The members chased and arrested them hiding in between vehicles and houses. The two aged 18 and 19 are expected to appear in Athlone Magistrate Court on a charge of hijacking.

In an unrelated incident on Wednesday 17 April 2019, at about 13:00, Mitchells Plain police received information about liquor being sold at a premises in Sharon Crescent, Tafelsig. Upon searching the premises, police found beers and ciders with a total volume of 43 920ml. They arrested a 29 year old male. The suspect faces a charge of illegal dealing in liquor.

Later on the same day at about 15:40, members of Provincial Tactical Response Team (TRT) were busy with crime prevention duties, when they spotted a suspicious male in Elizabeth Street, Montrose Park and searched him. Members found a plastic bag with 102.09g of tik in his possession.

A 27 year old man was arrested. The suspect faces a charge of illegal possession of drugs and he is expected to appear in court.
