To create a safer environment for the community, SAPS members conducted a search operation in Kraaifontein which led to the arrest of two male suspects, aged 18 and 19 years old for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Konolo Street, Wallacedene, Kraaifontein.

The members received information from the public that a firearm is stored at a residential property. During a search of the house, a Luger 9mm firearm and several rounds of ammunition were discovered. The firearm was reported stolen in Nyanga during March 2018.

The suspects are due to appear in the Blue Downs Regional Court on Monday 19 August 2019.

In a separate incident a 33 year old suspect was arrested for possession of drugs at in Skwatsha Street, Wallacedene, Kraaifontein. Mandrax tablets, tik and dagga with a street value of R5000.00 were confiscated.

The suspect is due to appear in the Kuilsriver Magistrates court, also on Monday.
