Anti-Gang Unit uncovers R300k worth of drugs, Cape Town

In the quest to rid communities of drugs that generate other serious violent crimes, the Anti-Gang Unit’s combating team along with detectives descended on a property in Brooklyn, Cape Town in the early hours of Sunday morning where two suspects were arrested a consignment of drugs were seized.

Armed with a search warrant, the Unit’s team searched a house on Fairbairn Road at 03:25 and discovered the following:

45 sachets of Tik
1 100g of Tik
2 bags of combined 1kg Tik
9 small bags of whoonga
998 boss mandrax tablets
1 bag of dagga
7 Smart Phones and
Cash to the value of R19 220

The total value of the drugs seized is estimated at R300 000-00.

The suspects, both 25 years of age, who are believed to have links with gangs, are expected to appear in court on Monday, 17 August 2020 on charges of drug dealing.
