Members from the Anti-Gang Unit, committed to remove illegal firearms and ammunition acted on information they received on 13 July 2019, and proceeded to an address in Irene Street, Hillview, Muizenberg. Upon their arrival at the address they searched the premises and found two unlicensed firearms and assortment of ammunition.
Four men, ages 16,19, 22 and 29 were arrested and are expected to appear in the Muizenberg Magistrates’ Court once charged.
The Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula assures the community that the SAPS members will continue to remove unlicensed firearms and ammunition from the communities and bring perpetrators to book.
