On 9 July 2020, at approximately 17:30, members attached to the Anti-Gang Unit were conducting crime prevention duties in Bishop Lavis area when they responded to a shooting incident in Tafelberg Road, Bishop Lavis

The members enquired about the shooting and received information of a suspect with a firearm at an address in Bishop Lavis.

Upon searching of the premises the members found three firearms, ammunition, 250g tik, one packet of crushed mandrax tablets, 200 whole mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A 25-year-old male was arrested for the illegal possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition and dealing in drugs.

He will appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court on Monday 13 July 2020, on the mentioned charges.
