Observant members attached to the Anti-Gang Unit deployed in the Bishop Lavis Police Precinct on Wednesday 23 December 2020, arrested a 44-year-old man for the possession of drugs.

While busy with visible policing in the area, a reliable source shared information about drugs and firearms at an identified address in Bishop Lavis.

The members responded and approached the dwelling. Upon arrival they noticed a male person coming in the direction of the gate. When he saw the SAPS vehicle he turned around and ran into the house with SAPS members in pursuit. Inside the house, they searched the male and found 50 mandrax tablets, 90 sachets filled with tik and an undisclosed amount of cash in his possession.

The suspect will make a court appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate court on a charges of dealing in drugs.
