To ensure the safety of the community, members of the AGU were doing crime prevention patrols in Bishop Lavis on the afternoon of 10 october 2019, when they received a tip off about the illegal possession of firearms. The members acted swiftly and proceeded to the given address.

When they arrived at the address they entered the house and conducted a search which led to the discovery of an unlicensed rifle and 55 rounds of ammunition.

An 18 year old male was arrested and charged for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Outside the residence, the members spotted another male person who was searched. He was found in possession of an unlicensed revolver and six rounds of ammunition.

Both suspects, aged 18 are due to make their court appearances in Bishop Lavis on Monday 14 October 2019.
