Anti gang unit arrest 2 suspects with unlicensed firearms, CT

The Anti Gang Unit is making headway in disarming criminals in our province. This morning, 6 November 2018, at around 10:45 members attached to AGU pursued a tip off of a suspect who is armed in Kardow Street, Mitchells Plain. Upon police arrival, the 32 year old man made a brief attempt to flee the area, however his luck ran out and he was arrested in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol and three rounds of ammunition.

At around the same, members of the AGU conducted a search operation at a residence in Kardow Street Mitchells Plain where a 35 year old suspect was arrested with a prohibited firearm, a .38 revolver, 51 rounds of ammunition and a small quantity of drugs.

Both suspects are scheduled to make a court appearance in Mitchells Plain on Thursday 8 November 2018, to face the charges against them.
