The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team have brought the accused Shonene Theunissen (45) before court after she failed to appear on charges of fraud to the value of R4 million on 10 July 2023 upon which a warrant of arrest was issued. It is alleged that she took investments from the public for bridging finance business and she instead used the money for herself.
Theunissen was arrested yesterday, 20 September 2023 and will be further charged on other criminal matters where she was allegedly appointed as the administrator of deceased estates and defrauded the estates to the total loss of over R1 million during November 2021 and January 2023.
She has made a court appearance on 21 September 2023 at the Bellville Specialised Commercial Crimes Court and remains in custody until 28 September 2023 for the next court appearance.
