On Thursday 23 May 2019, at about 18:00 members of Parow Police confiscated equipment and 660 units of dried abalone. At about 13:30, a real estate agent visited an address in Tecoma Street, Plattekloof 2 for an inspection.
When nobody answered the door the agent went into the yard and was greeted by a foul odour. When he opened one of the windows he saw equipment that is used to dry abalone. He then informed Parow SAPS of what he found at the premises.
A total of 660 units of dried abalone and equipment worth R300 000 were confiscated. Investigations continues.
