A scream for help suspects detained

Boere Krisis Aksie (B.K.A.)

A cry for help from people who were a victim of crime in Somerset West got a suspect arrested by diligent police officers. A suspect chose the wrong community to mess with. Somerset West Public Safety Officer’s Vrey and Menze were on crime prevention foot patrols in Somerset West CBD yesterday morning when they heard people screaming for help from a distance.

They ran in the direction of Caledon Street when they spotted a suspect running down the road. He was being chased by members of the public in a motor vehicle. The Officer’s joined in the chase and managed to apprehend the suspect in Caledon Street near the Oudehuis Centre.

At this point when the suspect realized he had been cornered, he got super brave and drew a knife on them. Thankfully our Team are well trained and were able to disarm and detain him in no time. It later unfolded that the suspect had robbed a lady in Myburgh Street of her cash and a tablet. The tablet was recovered, and Somerset West SAPS arrived to arrest the suspect.

What fantastic team work! Making our streets of Somerset West safer, one day at a time.

Another good news story and another criminal removed from the streets of South Africa. It is when perpetrators are apprehended by the diligent police officers that people rejoice. Unfortunately, there are too little good news stories, and crime remains out of control in most cities around the country. The crime situation remains critical and criminals continue to steal, kill and attack people. Although it is with thanks to the South African police and private security companies that do their best to keep crime away.
