Efforts to ensure that those involved in criminal activities during the taxi strike on 18 September 2017, were brought to justice when 53 suspects were arrested for various offences committed in the Nyanga area.
Community members made use of the chaotic circumstances that was brought on by the strike to loot local business in the Browns Farm area.
The offences include business robbery, malicious damage to property, public violence and possession of stolen property.
The suspects are both men and women aged between 18 and 25. They are all to appear in the Athlone Magistrate Court.
