By means of disruptive operations which have been executed during this week, 132 houses have been searched for drugs and 174 arrests executed relating to drugs.
471.620 kl of alcohol, mandrax tablets with an approximate street value of R8 880-00, tik with an approximate street value of R7 400-00 and dagga to the approximate street value of R6 576-00, as well as Khat to the approximate street value of R400-00 which have been confiscated.
Thirty five tracing operations were held and 56 suspects, who were wanted, were arrested as a result. A total of 482 suspects were arrested on various charges.
The Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula, commended the members of the SA Police Service, the Metro Police, Law Enforcement officers, Traffic Police, neighborhood watch structures and reservists for their dedication and commitment in ensuring that perpetrators of crime are brought to justice.
He further encouraged the community to keep on assisting the police in ridding their neighborhoods of criminal elements.
