The vigilance of members attached to Atlantis police resulted in the arrest of four SANDF members for dealing in drugs on the morning of 6 November 2020, at around 04:00.
In pursuit of abalone poachers, the members were patrolling the Atlantis coastline when their attention was drawn to a SANDF vehicle with four male occupants. The members followed the vehicle when the driver decided to accelerate, raising suspicion. The vehicle was eventually pulled over and a search led to the discovery of dagga valued at around R50 000-00 in the boot of the vehicle.
The four suspects aged between 30 and 51 are expected to make their court appearances in Atlantis on Monday 9 November 2020.
