SAPS mission to fight gang violence and to remove unlicensed firearms and ammunition from the streets continue to yield positive results when vigilance of the members of the Flying Squad, arrested four suspects aged between 32 and 36 for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and illegal objects at Voortrekker Road in Bellville.

On Sunday, 26 January 2020, at about 20:00, a search was conducted in a suspicious white Toyota Corolla vehicle occupied by the four suspects. It lead to the seizure of two firearms, a 9mm firearm and 45 Norinco Star, with several rounds of ammunition, pepper spray, six cellphones and two pocket knives.

The suspects are expected to make a court appearance in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once charged for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
