Three suspects between the ages of 23 and 24 were arrested in two separate incidents for being in possession of illegal ammunition in Khayelitsha.
On Tuesday morning 5 March 2019, at 03:30 in Site B, Khayelitsha police received crucial information that has led to the arrest of two people aged 24 and 52. These two suspects were arrested and police recovered forty five 9mm rounds hidden inside a wall unit.
In another incident earlier on 5 March 2019, at 03:50, at Site B in Khayelitsha, a 23 year old man was arrested at his residence. Police received information and found fifty seven 9mm rounds, shotgun rounds and a notebook leading to the man’s arrest.
All three suspects are expected to appear soon in the Khayelitsha Magistrate Court on charges of possession of illegal ammunition.
Police members were commended for their swift arrest.
