Muizenberg police apprehended three suspects for house robbery following an incident on 23 July 2020, at 23:00, at a house in Dalebrook Road, Kalk Bay.
The suspects allegedly gained access using their credentials as law enforcement officers, to question the complainant. They searched the complaint’s house and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then drove the complainant to Nyanga, where he was forced to withdraw a further amount of cash.
The complainant was given his car keys and released to return home. A house robbery case was registered at Muizenberg SAPS and thoroughly investigated.
On Saturday, 25 July 2020, the investigation led the SAPS members to Beacon Valley Law Enforcement depot, where three law enforcement officers aged between 33 and 36 were arrested.
The law enforcement vehicle, which was allegedly used in the house robbery, was also confiscated. The suspect are due to appear in court on 27 July 2020.
