2 Arrested with unlicensed firearm, Bonteheuwel

On 26 June 2020, members attached to the Bishop Lavis Crime Prevention Unit acted on information relating to two males hiding firearms at a residential address in Bonteheuwel.

Upon arrival, members entered and began searching the premises. In line with the information received, they inspected an area behind a partitioning board and discovered a firearm and several rounds of ammunition.

Two suspects, aged 29 and 33, were subsequently arrested and once formally charged they are expected to appear in court on Monday 29 June 2020, for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
