Warning issued as violent crime increases – ‘Be prepared, join safety structures’
Warning issued as violent crime increases - 'Be prepared, join safety structures'

On 18 November 2022, Thys Eloff from Oorgrens Veiligheid made the following observations regarding crime and has issued a warning to all South Africans.

Serious and violent crimes are on the increase in South Africa and people are urged to be prepared, vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times.

The warning does not only apply to farmers and people living in remote and or rural areas, but to all South Africans.

The following crimes, often associated with violence have been highlighted:

1) Burglaries and Robberies.
2) Vehicle theft.
3) Hijackings.
4) Farm or Plot attacks and home invasions which often include murder.
5) Livestock theft.
6) A new trend that is emerging is kidnappings and murders by a single person or groups.
7) Building and land occupations. (squatters).

‘Your Safety starts with yourself, people closest to you and your environment. Join a smaller group that can quickly assist each other. And be prepared and be alert at all times.’
