Vereeniging – A robber ran into problems after he got access to a house in Sonlandpark in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 23, 2014.
He broke through the burglar bars of a window to gain access to the house. A woman and her two daughters were at the time of the incident in the house.
It is alleged that the man broke in to steal goods when the youngest daughter began to fight back. The unidentified man threw a glass bottle at her in retaliation.
During the struggle, one of the girls grabbed a knife and stabbed the man in the shoulder, after which he fled.
Besides minor injuries the mother and daughters are recovering well.
