Choppie Bruwer (78) and his wife Marian (68) were shot in the head execution style whilst bound to chairs in their house on a farm in Van Stadensrus in the Free State. The attack on them happened Monday night 25 June 2018. A neighbour found them like that when people could not get hold of them. Their vehicle a silver Chevy Spark reg. no. FWZ736FS was taken along with firearms and cellphones.
It is the 18th farm attack this year in the Free State alone in which 5 people were murdered.
According to Marius Muller from AfriForum, 34 people were murdered on farms in South Africa so far this year .
Since Saturday 23 JUne 2018, 5 people were murdered on farms: Kallie Schoonraad in Rustenburg, Jeffrey Zetler in Stellenbosch, Peter Dawson in Hartbeespoort and now Choppie Bruwer and his wife Marian on Monday in Van Stadensrus.
