Transporting stolen cow in private ambulance

Two men have been arrested after they were caught transporting a cow in a private ambulance.

The two suspects have been charged with stock theft. Police stopped the private emergency vehicle outside Mokopane in the early hours of the morning.

Police spokesperson, Mmadikgale Masingi, says, “The ambulance was stopped and searched and they recovered the cow inside of it. Two boys were also arrested and a case of stock theft has been opened and we are still investigating.”

The cow that looks more like a calf and is in the care of the SPCA. It will be kept there for 21 days pending investigations.

The suspects are believed to be sons of the ambulance owner. They will appear in court on Monday.
