Three arrested for vigilante killing

Police have arrested three suspects allegedly linked to two suspected vigilante killings in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal.

The three, aged between 18 and 39, were arrested in Umlazi on Thursday night, Major Thulani Zwane said on Friday.

A white VP Polo allegedly used to dump the victims at the Prince Mshiyeni taxi rank on January 30 was confiscated.

They were expected to appear in the Umlazi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

The two victims, Nhlakanipho Ngobese, 27 and Sibusiso Dlamini, 25, were assaulted in A-section, Umlazi, after being accused of stealing money from a house.

KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Mmamonnye Ngobeni warned people against taking the law into their own hands.
