Theft via fuel increases continues

The state’s “legitimate” fuel robbery will continue on Wednesday 4 July 2018, with an increase in petrol prices between 23 and 26 cents per liter, while diesel will be between 24 and 26 cents per liter.

This will bring fuel fuel prices for the first time up to R16 per liter.

As previously reported, government levies are responsible for SA motorists paying more fuel than motorists pay in Namibia, Botswana and Lesotho, countries that import fuel from SA.

Meanwhile, a new organization has come to light. PAPPI stands for People Against Petrol and Paraffin Price Increase. They say the higher prices hit everyone, and called on motorists to stop their vehicles in safe places today and turn off for ten minutes as a form of protest against the increases.

The fact that the rand has fallen in value as a result of government policies is one of the major reasons for the rise, and can therefore be laid before the government’s door.
