ANN7 was born out of a corrupt relationship between LesserChoice and the Guptas. It has come out in the #GuptaLeaks and SABC minutes that LesserChoice worked through Hlaudi Motsoeneng, Suna Venter’s murderer, and Ashu Chawla, the Guptas go-to man, to swing Guptament broadcast policy so that it commercially favor LesserChoice and ensure they keep their monopoly status.
If you study this behavior, it breaks so many rules, and it comes down to a corrupt relationship. There is a mutually beneficial and parasitic relationship between LesserChoice and the Guptas. It is a quid pro quo situation. LesserChoice wins because they swung the Guptament broadcast policy, through the aid of the Guptas, so that the Guptament supported unencrypted set-top boxes for the digital migration program. This favors lesser choice because it ensures that it excludes competitors, like ETV, from entering the market. It would favor competitors if the Guptament favored encrypted set-top boxes because competitors would then use that encrypted boxes to offer subscription services, in competition with LesserChoice.
In return, the Guptas opened a propaganda station owned by them on the LesserChoice platform and got paid a once off R25 million payment and almost R150 million per year. This in spite of the fact that Imtiaz Patel, LesserChoice CEO, said before that they don’t pay for news services. ANN7 is not an alternative voice like LesserChoice likes to say.
It is a lying voice, it is a propaganda voice for the criminal family and it is a racist voice, in that it is carrying on the Gupta designed WMC narrative, also pushed by Bell Pottinger, to divert and redirect attention from the Gupta family led state capture program that looted hundreds of billions of rands from the country’s SOE’s in various kickback programs.
This station has painted a target on an entire population group, the whites, demonizing them, to take attention away from the Indian immigrant criminal family. If you subscribe to LesserChoice, you support corruption and your demise, wittingly or unwittingly, but now the truth is out.
