Telkom’s CEO, Sipho Maseko, took home about R21.8 million as compensation in the past financial year. This is a reduction of less than R1 million compared to the previous financial year when he received R23.2 million.

Its remuneration for the 2020 financial year includes R8.8 million in guaranteed salary for the year, plus shares worth R10.5 million, and additional shares of R2.4 million.

In addition, there are pensions, car insurance and even funeral benefits attributed to him.

He apparently received a further R5 million more in certain shares, but this year Telkom did not award any bonus.

Some of the other seniors such as Deon Fredericks who retired were able to take home R26.1 million at that time, and Alphonzo Samuels received R19.5 million at retirement.
