After two letters directed to the acting national police commissioner and the Minister of Police requesting to convene an urgent meeting with regard to the possible land grabs, no response has been received. The president of TAU SA, Mr. Louis Meintjes has now sent an urgent letter to President Jacob Zuma.
The letter to Zuma asks for him to use his executive powers and instruct the relevant government agencies to plan in order to prevent illegal and unlawful land grabs with the possible loss of life, limb, and property.
If it doesn’t happen, I reserve the right to take appropriate security measures that would be necessary under the current circumstances to neutralize threats and/or to ensure that proper compensation for the loss of life, limb, and property is insured, said Mr. Meintjies.
