Suspects caught with more than 200 stolen bank cards

Three suspected thieves whose vehicle was stopped by police on the N14 near Pretoria have been found with more than 200 suspected stolen bank cards in their possession.

Police have nabbed three suspects who were caught with more than 200 suspected stolen bank cards in their possession.

Captain Colette Weilbach said that on Thursday afternoon‚ police had received a call to be on the lookout for a suspicious-looking brown bakkie travelling towards the capital.

“Lyttelton police responded and pulled the vehicle over at the Jean Avenue off-ramp. The vehicle and the three occupants were searched. During the search 228 Capitec Bank cards were found on the suspects. They were arrested immediately for possession of suspected stolen goods. The value of the stolen cards is R12‚200‚” Capt Weilbach said.

She added that the three suspects‚ aged 57‚ 42 and 38 years‚ and who are all from Soshanguve‚ would appear in court soon.
