Thirteen farm attackers arrested in connection with three separate farm attacks and farm murders that occurred during the month of February this year.
It is indeed good news to know that the South African police together with farming security communities have pursued the evidence and arrested the perpetrators. It is equally disturbing to know that the detained 13 can be granted bail and be back on the streets within days.
South African prisoners enjoy more constitutional protection than any other African countries. Prisoners’ rights are human rights, according to the constitution. Jacob Zuma touched on this effect during his response to the SONA2017 debate and said the justice system is currently reviewing the situation.
