The chaos in the country continues unabated by the so called protest acts, which just degrade into violence and destruction.
In Northern Natal two trucks were stopped, goods stolen and subsequently burned with the result that the N2 highway had to be closed. Passenger cars were attacked with stones, but the police were not available for comment.
In Johannesburg, the ritual of burning tires continued, with the result that traffic between London Road and Marlboro was restricted. The R59 near Meyerton will be closed until Tuesday, 20 June.
Also in George, two trucks were burned and the N2 road was blocked with stones. All that the police have done so far is to “monitor” the situation.
