On September 8, 2015 whilst at his normal post at the previously notorious smash and grab hotspot at the 9th Avenue bridge in Fairland, Johannesburg, Officer Bereng, from Beagle Watch Armed Response, noticed an attempted smash and grab in progress.
He immediately gave chase and arrested the suspect on the N1 highway where another suspect in a white Toyota Corolla Quest were waiting for him to return. Unfortunately the vehicle and one suspect fled on the highway.
