Self protection will no longer be accepted as a valid reason to own a firearm

PRESS RELEASE, 18 October 2018: PROPOSED REPEALING OF SECTION 13 & 14 OF GUN-OWNERSHIP LAW CONDEMNED:

Front National strongly condemns the proposed repealing of section 13 and 14 of Act 60 of 2000. According to this proposed plan, self protection will no longer be accepted as a valid reason to own a firearm.

This proposal creates the shocking impression that the Police and the government wants to limit the defensibility of the law abiding section of our population and disarm, in an immoral and irrational way, capable and law abiding citizens of their right to self protection.

The current circumstances around crime, farm attacks, murder, violence and general mayhem in our society and the apparent inability of the authorities to control this situation, makes such a proposal even more unacceptable.
