SOUTH AFRICA – The South African Police Service (SAPS) has formally executed the dismissal of Major General Feroz Khan, concluding his tenure following his non-compliance with mandatory internal disciplinary procedures. This administrative action underscores the force’s strict enforcement of its regulatory framework regarding senior leadership accountability.
According to a SAPS spokesperson, the termination was officially processed under Regulation 9(7)(b) of the SAPS Discipline Regulations. This decisive measure was triggered after Major General Feroz Khan failed to appear before the designated senior officer who is tasked with overseeing the expeditious disciplinary process.
In its official communication, the police service reiterated its foundational commitment to maintaining rigorous discipline, professional conduct, and institutional accountability. The spokesperson emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for exemptions, stating clearly that no individual, irrespective of their rank or position, operates above the law or the established disciplinary framework.
Acknowledging the complex legal backdrop surrounding the case, the SAPS noted that the matter has been the subject of ongoing legal proceedings. Moving forward, the service affirmed it will continue to respect and abide by all judicial decisions, committing to release any further details regarding the dismissal only when legally permissible.
