SABC faces class action

Die Vryburger

According to a lawyer, Paul Hoffman, viewers who pay their license fee have the right to sue the SABC to protect their “investment.”

According to Hoffman, the SABC’s financial statements ended February 2016 show that R40,8 million has been received for services not yet delivered. It appears that the SABC, according to their own council, is no longer liquid and may soon be insolvent.

Hoffman, who is the director of the Social Rights Group Accountability Now, has asked for a class action case against the SABC in the light of their state of affairs. It can be the final straw that will finally break the camel’s back.
