Seventeen of the 67 subjects in the matric exams of 2018 marks were adjusted upwards and eleven subjects’ marks were adjusted downwards.
This means that 25% of the total subjects ‘marks have been adjusted upwards, while nearly 42% of all subjects have been adjusted, it is not reported which subjects’ points have been adjusted upwards but it is readily accepted that these are the subjects most pupils have written such as Languages, Science, Biology, IT and History.
This means that subjects that are particularly needed to be admitted to higher education have been manipulated.
The fact that subjects’ marks have been adjusted upwards is not a good testimonial for examiners and moderators. It seems that the knowledge in this area is also being drained. Even leftist academic Jonathan Janse says a matric certificate is worth nothing.
