SA crime intelligence boss does not get security clearance

Die Vryburger

After nearly a month as head of South Africa’s crime intelligence unit, General Major Pat Mokushane not yet received top security clearance.

The reason given is that he has not yet submitted the required necessary documents.

His bank statements, proof of tertiary qualifications as well as his matric certificate are still outstanding.

However, the question arises as to how he got basic clearance or could have been appointed as the documents were outstanding.

It appears that Mokushane had something to hide after it came to light that he approached the State Security Minister, David Mahlobo, to reset the clearance process.

It also appears that Mokushane violated the National Road Traffic Act in 2002 and was arrested in 1993 for the possession of a stolen vehicle.

It is thought that he is just another one of the elect to be appointed to a post without the necessary qualifications or clearances.
