The year has just started, and Julius Malema is busy with incitement.
Malema appealed to all matriculants who recently passed their examinations, as well as those who had passed matric before but had no money for further studies, to enroll at universities for their “free tertiary” education.
He used this gap after Jacob Zuma’s insensible announcement of free tertiary education, for which no money has yet been budgeted.
Universities fear violence after the announcement because most are already full after pre-selection had been done and they cannot allow new candidates to arrive in front of the gate. The EFF said they would oversee the gates of the universities to ensure that prospective students would be admitted.
