All top government officials, including the police, will have to undergo a lifestyle audit.

The announcement was made by the head of state, Cyril Ramaphosa.

He will also try to reduce the bloated number of government departments.

It sounds good, but analysts fear that millions of rand’s worth of golden handshakes will be given to those who may be fired.

He said that he would “announce at the right time” about a cabinet reshuffle.
