The remarks and excuses made by the ANC president, Cyril Ramaphosa in parliament, where the R500,000 came from that was paid into his account, raised eyebrows.

He replied in parliament to a question in this regard and said that his son worked with the money and that it would be promptly repaid to Bosasa.

On 29 January 2019, the Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, who had previously been appointed in the post by Jacob Zuma, was cross examining Ramaphosa on what is the real story regarding the half million rand, that was apparently a ‘donation’.

The president had two different stories about the money, and with a record of lies abroad on farm murders, there is no doubt about which story actually contains the truth.

Political analysts say the possibility is not ruled out that Ramaphosa was also on Bosasa’s payroll, and that it is now quickly being “corrected” to save embarrassment.
