Questions about Ramaphosa after speaking to communists

Die Vryburger

How long did Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa know about the billions of rands that went to a few elites and why is the judicial commission of inquiry into state capture not instituted?

These are the questions asked, after Ramaphosa delivered an apparent “strong speech” to the SA Communist Party’s congress.

In his speech, he said that the money stolen by the state had to be recovered. He also indicated that they (the ANC?) know that billions have gone to a few elites and that it is unacceptable.

However, he avoids the name “Gupta” in his speech but mentions a family and their associates who benefit from contracts. It gives the impression to observers that he is cautious of the Gupta brothers.

Ramaphosa demanded that an independent judicial commission is structured to investigated and recover money stolen. This commission must be instituted by his president, Jacob Zuma, and apparently, he is not in a hurry to do it, and Ramaphosa, as deputy president, does not seem to have much involvement or ability to exert pressure on Zuma to speed it up.

Ramaphosa also asked the SACP not to participate in the next election as a separate entity.
