The struggling Public Protector (PP), Busisiwe Mkhwebane, called Pravin Gordhan to appear before her regarding Ivan Pillay’s early retirement package in 2010.
Gordhan was already charged with the matter in 2016 but the matter was later withdrawn. He states that this action amounts to victimization, and there are doubts about the PP’s right to re address the matter after it was withdrawn.
It is known that the PP is a Zuma supporter and that she is likely to follow up the former president’s grievance against Gordhan.
