The full bank of judges in the Pretoria Supreme Court ruled that Jacob Zuma had to pay for his legal costs for the cases taken to court on the decisions of former public protector Thuli Madonsela.

Zuma’s application to appeal has also been rejected and he has been ordered also pay this court case’s costs as well.

In December last year, Zuma requested his legal representative to launch a case and appeal against the finding regarding state capture. Then he started a fight about who should pay the court costs, but two opposition parties eventually joined the battle that lost Zuma on Friday 9 November 2018.

Zuma has been ordered by the court to repay the difference in amount between R17 million and R32 million to the state, as it is the court fees incurred regarding corruption and money laundering.

Someone later said outside the court that this was Zuma’s Black Friday.
