Police arrested two men for attacking farm owner near Herbertsdale

Update: Spokesperson, Captain Bernadine Steyn says the owner of the farm, an 82 year old woman, was alone in her house on Friday evening.

She says the elderly woman was woken-up by a noise, and after she investigated, she returned to the house.

Steyn says the two suspects forced the front door open, and armed with scissors and knife, allegedly assaulted the victim.

She sustained open wounds in her head and hands.

Steyn says the suspects took a radio and three cellular phones, and fled the scene on foot.

The victim was taken to a hospital in Mossel Bay and is in a stable condition.

A 17 year old was arrested shortly after the incident on the farm and the radio was recovered, while an 18 year old was arrested in Herbertsdale late on Saturday evening.

Both are expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrates’ court on Monday.
